KFC Has Left Neptune City The Colonel has closed the doors at the KFC on Route 35 in Neptune City. Central Jersey's fast-food restaurant, formerly known as Kentucky Fried Chicken, was located for decades at the corner of 35 Third Ave. and Route 35. This week, there is a sign on the chicken joint's door stating, “This restaurant is no longer open,”  The 2,400-square-foot retail space is currently listed as up for lease on LoopNet.
