Ocean State Job Lot Opens 6th NJ Store At Vacant Toys 'R Us Lot Ocean State Job Lot, a chain of discount stores, bought the former Toys ‘R Us location in Monmouth County, officials said. Job Lot plans to open its sixth New Jersey store on property across from Freehold Raceway Mall in the fall, OSJL officials said Thursday. The retailer, headquartered in Rhode Island,  operates 146 discount stores across the Northeast including NJ, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and four other New England states. After filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, the nation’s oldest department store announced it will also be closing seven stores in New York, three in Connecticut, two in Massachusetts, two in Illinois and two in Maryland, CNBC reports. Tuesday Morning Retailer Struck By Coronavirus Closing 7 NJ Stores Home goods retailer Tuesday Morning is the latest national outlet to seek bankruptcy protection, company officials said. Tuesday Morning's closing is a result of the "immense strain of the COVID-19 pandemic," the Dallas-based retail chain said in a statement.  At least seven Tuesday Morning stores in New Jersey will close as a result of the bankruptcy.
