2 Fatal Crashes On Same Day In Monroe: Police There were two fatal crashes in one day in Monroe Township, authorities said. A driver died after crashing on Wednesday, June 12 after a medical emergency, Monroe police said. The crash occurred on Applegarth Road (Route 619) in Monroe at about 10 a.m., police said. Police didn’t identify the driver pending notification of next of kin. Just after midnight Wednesday, a 42-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Buckelew Avenue near Grace Hill Road, police said. The pedestrian also had not been identified.

Council Candidate Arrested For Stealing Campaign Signs, Middlesex County Prosecutor Says A 51-year-old town council candidate from Middlesex County has been charged with stealing election signs from the roadway, authorities said.  Timothy Eosso, of Monroe, was arrested and charged Tuesday with one count of disorderly persons theft by unlawful taking, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.  Eosso is a Republican candidate for Monroe Township Council in the 2nd ward.
