Pedestrian Critical After Struck By Vehicle On Route 9: Prosecutor
A 77-year-old Howell Township man is in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle on Route 9 on the early morning of Tuesday, Jan. 7, authorities said. At 4:51 a.m., Howell Township police responded to Route 9 and Strickland Road after a driver, who was traveling southbound in the right lane of Route 9, collided with the man, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said. The man remains hospitalized with multiple injuries, Santiago said. The driver remained on scene and was cooperative with law enforcement officers, Santiago said.

Drunk Driver Crashes Into Police Cars On New Year's: Old Bridge PD
A 24-year-old man was arrested and charged with drunk driving in Old Bridge after he crashed into two police cars on Wednesday, Jan. 1, authorities said. At 1:43 a.m. officers were investigating a traffic crash on Route 35 when the driver, who was not identified, slammed into the rear of a patrol vehicle, which in turn hit into the patrol vehicle in front of it, Old Bridge police said.
