Tornado Warning Issued For Ocean, Burlington Counties A tornado watch was issued at about 12:50 p.m. for parts of Ocean and Burlington counties. The National Weather Service in Mount Holly also issued a severe thunderstorm warning for a wider area of South Jersey. The thunderstorm warning is in effect until 6 p.m. Friday June 16. The weather service said cloud rotation was detected on weather radar as a “severe squall line capable of producing both tornadoes and extensive straight-line wind damage was located over Browns Mills, or 20 miles southeast of Trenton, moving east at 40 mph.”

Firefighters Called To Water Rescue, Boat Fire Amidst South Jersey Storm UPDATED: A dive team was called to the Jersey Shore to rescue at least three children reported to be stranded on wake boards during the storm. It was among dozens of emergency calls Wednesday afternoon due to a severe thunderstorm with high winds and a chance of hail. Police, divers and EMS crews were called to Beaver Dam Road and Princeton Avenue in Brick Township about 1:30 p.m., according to initial reports.
