Bang From Smash-And-Grab Macy's Jewelry Theft Sends Paramus Mall Patrons Fleeing
Patrons fled the Garden State Plaza in Paramus on Wednesday after being frightened by what turned out to be a loud bang from a smash-and-grab jewelry theft at Macy's. One woman said her son ducked into a bathroom after he heard what sounded like a gunshot, then joined others running from the building after a Shake Shack manager urged him to flee. Shake Shack Expands NJ Footprint
Shake Shack is expanding its New Jersey footprint. The burger and shake chain intends to open in the Newport Centre on the Jersey waterfront, which is also the largest mall in Hudson County, JerseyDigs reports. Shake Shack plans to open its location on a third-floor food hall between Burger King and Chick-fil-A. The exact opening date was not immediately known. Shake Shack's other Hudson County location is on Washington Street in Hoboken.

NJ's First Shake Shack With Drive Thru Coming To Route 17
New Jersey's first drive-thru Shake Shack is set to open in Bergen County, according to multiple news reports. The burger and shake joint was approved by the Hasbrouck Heights Planning Board on Dec. 1 for the site of the shuttered Mt. Fuji restaurant, which is set to be demolished. A Shake Shack spokesperson confirmed the 193 Route 17 drive-thru site, slated to open in 2022. It will take approximately six months for the restaurant to be built, according to TapInto. More than a dozen stores at Westfield's Garden State Plaza in Paramus will begin offering curbside pickup as nonessential businesses in New Jersey begin their reopening. Beginning this Thursday, May 21, shoppers can place orders online or call select retailers (scroll down for complete list) to place an order. Several retailers and restaurants at the Westfield Garden State Plaza will be donating 10 percent of registered sales or making a monetary donation on Wednesday, June 20 to the Paramus Children's Health Foundation to benefit Paramus East Brook Middle School families.
