NJ Transit officials have released the name of the motorist killed by a train earlier this week in Morris County. Michael Carbone, 77, of Pompton Plains, was struck by Montclair-Boonton Line train 1074 after he disregarded the crossing gates at the Ryerson Road crossing in Lincoln Park around 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, a spokesperson for NJ Transit said. A driver was killed after being struck by an NJ Transit train Monday morning, Oct. 28 in Morris County, authorities said. Montclair-Boonton Line train 1074 struck the vehicle at the Ryerson Road crossing in Lincoln Park just before 9:30 a.m., NJ Transit spokesman Kyalo Mulumba said. Police in Lincoln Park are investigating after an attempted garage burglary. A homeowner on George Cobb Lane reported observing two black males trying to enter a garage Thursday morning, authorities said. When they were spotted by the homeowner, the men fled east down the New Jersey Transit railroad tracks on foot, Lincoln Park police said. One suspect was wearing all black clothing, and the other was dressed in a white hoodie and blue Adidas-style striped sweatpants, authorities said.
