Better late than never. Gov. Phil Murphy and his wife were tested for exposure to coronavirus on Wednesday. Murphy has been urging the public to get tested for weeks, saying it's "one of our only protections," along with hand-washing, mask-wearing, social distancing and contact tracing. More than 18,000 licensed New Jersey pharmacists have been authorized by state officials to administer FDA-approved coronavirus tests to customers, Gov. Phil Murphy said Monday. The tests can be given without a prescription, Murphy said. Additionally, 50 CVS pharmacy locations across the state will be offering self-swab tests by the end of May. “I’m gonna run you all over with my SUV if I see anyone getting tested,” a South Jersey man posted on Facebook after learning that a local Rite Aid opened a free drive-thru coronavirus testing site, authorities said. Police in the Camden County town of Barrington arrested local resident Joseph M. 19: Changes Coming To Paramus, Holmdel Testing Sites As Cases Shoot Above 6,800
Changes are coming to New Jersey's government-run coronavirus testing centers in Paramus and Holmdel. Starting on Saturday, March 28, the Bergen Community College and PNC Bank Arts Center testing centers will only accept symptomatic health care workers and first responders -- police, fire, and EMS. The general public will not be able to access these sites on Saturday. The following day, the testing sites will move to a new schedule, to be announced on covid19.nj.gov. Drive-Thru Coronavirus Testing Center Coming To County College Of Morris
A drive-thru coronavirus testing center is coming to the County College of Morris in Randolph. Tents are going up at the Center Grove Road school, where only people with prescriptions from health care providers for testing will be served. This will be the second testing center in Morris County. The first opened Wednesday at Morristown Medical Center, where only people with prescriptions from Atlantic Health Systems physicians are being tested. For the fourth day in a row since opening, the Bergen Community College coronavirus testing site was at capacity hours before closing. Officials at New Jersey's first government-operated testing told people to leave less than 30 minutes after opening at 8 a.m. Monday. NJ Coronavirus Testing Site In Paramus Closes After Only Four Hours
New Jersey's first major coronavirus testing site closed after only four hours on Friday. On Saturday, the site closed within minutes. A Daily Voice reader who got to the site at 9:30 a.m. waited in line until 1:30 p.m. to be tested, he said.
