A brawl that broke out due to an ongoing dispute between students put Union Township High School on lockdown earlier this week, district officials said. Monday's fight broke out when one student was approached by others in the bathroom near the cafeteria, stopped momentarily, but picked up again near the attendance office, Superintendent Scott Taylor said in a letter to parents published by TapInto. Students attending one New Jersey high school next year will soon have an extra 40 minutes of shut-eye before starting their first class, thanks to a new proposal from state lawmakers. Fire crews in Morris County were quick to douse a generator that went up in flames at a local high school before dawn Tuesday. The Long Valley Fire Company confirmed the generator blaze as they responded to West Morris Central High School just after 4:20 a.m. The building had lost power earlier in the evening, and the morning staff saw the fire as they arrived, LVFC said.
