Richard B. Haskell initially registered a .21 blood-alcohol level -- nearly three times the legal limit -- after officers responding to a call at 7:42 a.m. Saturday found him in his car parked at Suraci's Pond on Woodland Avenue, Police Chief Bryan Gurney said.

A sergeant woke him, smelled alcohol on Haskell's breath and spotted the bottle, the chief said.

After failing a sobriety test, Haskell was arrested and then later released to a responsible adult under John's Law, he said.

Haskell then showed up at headquarters at 12:21 p.m. in a 2009 Mercury wagon, looking for his car, Gurney said.

He was again arrest on DWI charges.

Haskell is due to answer the charges Oct. 24 in Municipal Court.
