Gabriel Guzman was taken into custody along with his passenger, Maria Halaby, who Police Chief James Batelli said was "belligerent and uncooperative with police" and charged with obstruction.

Guzman had "planned to meet a buyer" in the parking lot when he was arrested, Batelli said.

Besides the drugs, he was carrying a digital scale, among other paraphernalia, the chief said. Police charged him with various drug counts, he said.

"Molly is an extremely dangerous drug that has grown in popularity...[and] has resulted in deaths across the country," Batelli said. "It gives users the euphoric high of amphetamines and the psychedelic effects of hallucinogens and can lead to damage to vital organs and death."

Guzman and Halaby were released pending a court hearing, he said.
