RAMSEY, N.J. – Rita Purdy, a resident of Ramsey, died Sunday, July 10. She was 62.
Born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey, she immigrated to the United States in 1969. She was a member of St. Leon Armenian Church in Fair Lawn. She was a waitress with Horizon Diner in Ramsey for four years.
She is survived by her child, Tanya Mellett; grandchild, Morgen Mellett; sister, Aline Simonyan; niece Laura Rensel and husband Peter; great-nephews, Nicolas and Pele; and former spouse Terance Purdy.
She was predeceased by Christopher Purdy and Eric Simonyan.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday with a service at 2 p.m. at the Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn.
