Man Had 5-6 Beers, Drank While Driving In NJ Crash That Killed NHL Star, Brother: Affidavit
A Woodstown man reportedly admitted to having about a half-dozen beers before the crash that killed Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, arrest records said. Sean Higgins, 43, was facing several charges including two counts of assault by auto, according to court records. He was accused of striking the NHL star and his brother while they were riding bicycles in Oldmans Township on Thursday, Aug. 29. The case of a former New Jersey Army National Guardsman accused of snapping photos up women's skirts will be heading to trial after he rejected a plea deal in Sussex County, according to a recent news report. Stephen Grogan, of Branchville, has been accused in four "upskirting" incidents across the U.S. since 2018 -- the year he separated from the state's National Guard, the NJ Herald reports. Report: Commissioner Of NJ Veterans Homes Resigns After 103 Residents Die Of Coronavirus
The official who helmed New Jersey's veterans homes, which reported a total 103 coronavirus deaths and 391 cases, resigned from his position, NorthJersey.com reports. Mark Piterski oversaw the Paramus and Menlo Park homes, which together have more COVID-19 deaths and cases than any other nursing homes in New Jersey. NJ National Guard Captain Is 1st Coronavirus Death In U.S. Military
A captain in the New Jersey Army National Guard has died of the coronavirus, the U.S. Department of Defense announced Monday night. U.S. Army Capt. Douglas Linn Hickok of Jackson died on Saturday, seven days after being hospitalized. Hickok is the first U.S. service member to die of the coronavirus, U.S. Secretary of Defense Mark Esper said.
