Mom Who Ran Away With 9-Year-Old Daughter Could Be In Bergen County: Police
Police in South Jersey are trying to locate a 9-year-old girl who they say was picked up by her mom in North Jersey and hasn't been returned. Athena Worthy-Miles' mom, Dasia Serrano-Worthy, picked her up from her grandmother's house on 74th Street in North Bergen on Saturday, June 17 at 2:30 p.m., police in West Deptford say. According to Athena's father, Dasia does not have custody of Athena and has not returned her, police said. Dasia also disconnected her phone and no one has been able to contact her, police said. Fear grew as the search for a missing North Jersey boy continued on Wednesday. Minutes turned to frightful hours as a search intensified for 8-year-old boy Alan Wang of Paramus -- who was eventually found safe and sound. Missing Boy Found Dead In NJ Lake
The body of a 4-year-old boy reported missing was found submerged in the bottom of a New Jersey lake Thursday, July 14, authorities said. Police were called to Overlook Avenue near John A. Roebling Memorial Park in Hamilton Township on reports of a missing child around 5 p.m., approximately 40 minutes after he'd last been seen, local police said. After about an hour of searching, his body was found submerged in Spring Lake, police said.The boy was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
