Again: Big Purple Bud Bus Guy, Woman Arrested After Series Of Raids Across NJ, NY, Cops Say
The New York owner of a popular cannabis company known for its fleet of purple buses and vans was taken into custody, as was a woman, on Wednesday, July 10, following a series of raids across New Jersey and New York, authorities said.
Searches on Bill Schlette’s Bud Bus Inc. locations Hewitt, Manahawkin, Keyport, and West Nyack, NY turned up $200,000 in cash, according to West Milford Police Capt. Parrello.

Cannabis Edible Sales Surge Amid Coronavirus, Report Says
Here’s a first: More people who are legally buying marijuana products for recreational or medicinal use during the coronavirus pandemic are choosing drinks and edibles over smoke, a study shows.
Comparing sales from March 7-31 to the more than nine weeks before it, “cannabis-infused beverages jumped from 1% of overall sales to 14%, beating ‘flower’ sales, which is unheard of,” marketing firm Headset reports.
Edible sales grew the most, by 28% percent, it says.
Meanwhile, sales of pre-rolls and topicals dropped by 13% each, Headset reports.
Users are clearly stocking up, experts say.

Paterson police swept a drug corner and seized a handgun, along with dozens of heroin folds and cocaine vials, while arresting several people – including three men over 50.
Along with buyers from Clifton, Lodi and Haworth, narcotics detectives responding to citizen complaints busted four people Friday at 17th Avenue and East 28th Street on various drug and weapons charges, Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said.

Police: Mahwah Dealer Had Pounds Of Pot, Hash Oil, Edibles, Buyers Being Investigated
A Mahwah man stopped for careless driving on Thanksgiving morning was trucking a pound and a half of pot, a pound of hash oil, 20 packages of marijuana edibles and $2,600 in suspected drug cash, police said.
Officer Timothy Letavish stopped a 2003 Infiniti driven by 23-year-old Lebo L. Xhelo for “driving in a careless manner” on Ramapo Valley Road around 3 a.m. Thursday, Police Chief James Batelli said.
Suspecting that Xhelo was high, Letavish, a trained drug recognition expert, ordered him out of the vehicle, the chief said.
