Kidnapper Of 70-Year-Old Paterson Bodega Owner Gets 15 Years Without Parole In Fed Pen
A Bronx man is headed to federal prison for 15 years without parole for beating and kidnapping a 70-year-old Paterson bodega owner at gunpoint. Maurice Cottman, 42, was sentenced to the plea-bargained term in U.S. District Court in Newark on Tuesday, March 29. Cottman must serve it out because there's no parole in the federal prison system. FBI: Kidnapped Paterson Bodega Owner Found Bound In Bronx
A Paterson bodega owner kidnapped from his store early Thursday was rescued in the Bronx, said authorities who arrested one of his accused abductors. Surveillance video shows one man grabbing Miguel Espejo in a chokehold while the other points a gun as they wrestle in front of the counter, knocking over items, at the Easter Grocery and Food Market at 10th Avenue and East 28th Street early Thursday.
