Michael Young, 50, of Bayville was working on a subpanel at Dealer Tire on Valley Brook Avenue when the accident occurred just minutes before noon today, Lyndhurst Police Chief James O’Connor said.

“The main electrical box flashed and he was burned,” O’Connor told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Emergency workers quickly got Young to the Matera Field landing zone and a copter that whisked him to the hospital.

The incident is being investigated by OSHA and both the Lyndhurst police and building departments.
