She was born May 2, 1944.
She was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Lyndhurst and St. Maxmilian Kolbe in Toms River. She had many roles at these churches including Lector, Eucharistic Minister and CCD teacher.
O'Connor was an executive secretary at R. Markey & Sons in New York City for about 30 years before retiring in 2010.
She was predeceased by her parents, James J. and Ellen Marie (nee Pomidor) O'Connor.
She is survived by her siblings, Gail McDonald and Chief James O'Connor.
There will be a funeral at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church, 146 Copeland Ave., Lyndhurst. Cremation will be private. Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
