A 55-year-old Oakland man was charged with threatening to shoot police, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced on Friday, May 24. Todd Gentile was responsible for “an emerging pattern of social media posts threatening to shoot law enforcement officers,” the prosecutor said. Gentile had been in the Bergen County Jail following a similar arrest for making terroristic threats earlier this month, records show. A 13-year-old boy from The Bronx was charged with juvenile delinquency on Friday, April 14 for calling bomb threats into Kearney High School last week, police said. A 24-year-old man was arrested and charged for a shooting that occurred in Paterson last month. Rashane Lewis, of Paterson, was charged with first-degree attempted murder for shooting a 20-year-old man at 12th Avenue and William Street on Friday, March 10 around 9 p.m., Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said. The victim's injuries were not fatal. Police apprehended Lewis on Tuesday, April 4, following an investigation, Valdes said. Hoboken police allege Jamil Deacon, a Hoboken resident, passed a note to bank tellers at the Santander Bank demanding $40,000 be handed to him and verbally threatened to shoot them if they did not comply.
