Five different staff members at a Saddle Brook school received the same emailed bomb threat, said authorities who cleared the building, conducted a search and found nothing harmful. Members of the Bergen County Bomb Squad swept both inside and outside the K-6 Franklin Elementary School on Caldwell Avenue before giving the all-clear, Saddle Brook Schools Supt. First responders in Saddle Brook teamed up to rescue a wireless communication company employee who passed out on the roof of the new township municipal complex. The Regional Communications worker was handling some equipment maintenance when he lost consciousness shortly before 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, said Capt. John A. UPDATE: A Saddle Brook police officer rescued a cat from a smoky fire that destroyed a local resident’s home Tuesday. Officer Matt Benus was the first responder at the two-alarm Hutter Street blaze. The 60-something woman got out safely, while her cat remained inside. Benus rushed in, found the feline in the living room and completed the rescue. Firefighters Douse Saddle Brook Basement Blaze
Firefighters extinguished a Saddle Brook basement fire before it could spread early Saturday afternoon. An electrical panel apparently sparked and caught fire at the two-story, wood-frame Belli Terrace home around 1 p.m. Firefighters quickly doused flames that had spread to the walls and ceiling. Elmwood Park and Rochelle Park firefighters assisted their colleagues, along with the Saddle Brook Ambulance Corps, which provided EMS service and rehab. No injuries were reported.
