Two people were arrested and charged with stealing a car following a motor vehicle stop in Fairfield on the early morning of Sunday, April 14, authorities said. Dirt Bicyclist Struck, Killed On Clifton Street
A 24-year-old dirt bicyclist was struck and killed on a Clifton street just below Route 46, authorities confirmed. A 2007 Honda bike driven by the as-yet unidentified rider collided with a Honda CRV at the corner of Lakeview Avenue and East 11th Street shortly before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, they said. The victim was taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Fire Behind Route 46 Mexican Restaurant Doused
Firefighters doused an overnight blaze in a building behind a Route 46 Mexican restaurant in Saddle Brook. The 9th Street fire ignited around 3 a.m. Wednesday March 13. Firefighters who initially found smoke coming from the ceiling of the one-story building behind Taqueria Los Güeros had the flames knocked down in under 15 minutes. No injuries were reported. : Armed Duo Sought In Overnight Gas Station Holdup Spree In Bergen, Passaic
Two bandits robbed multiple gas stations in Bergen and Passaic counties at gunpoint shortly before dawn on Sunday, responders said. The BP on eastbound Route 3 in Clifton was held up at 5 a.m. Jan. 7. One of the robbers had a handgun, the attendant told police. Pedestrian Struck, Critically Injured On Route 46
A 47-year-old woman was in critical condition after she was struck by a car Monday night on Route 46, responders said. The driver of the white Nissan hatchback that hit her remained at the scene of the crash in the westbound lanes at Phillips Avenue in South Hackensack shortly before 10:30 p.m. The victim, believed to be homeless, was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center. Township police, two ALS units from HUMC and a Little Ferry First Aid Corps ambulance crew quickly tended to the victim and got her to the hospital. The driver remained at the scene.
