Police: Ocean County Assault Suspect, 22, Tries To Flee From Hoboken Hospital During Treatment An Ocean County man was under police guard when he tried to escape from a Hoboken hospital following accusations of aggravated assault, authorities said. Jared Mullin, 22, is accused of assaulting a man who was found dazed, confused and lying on the ground with a large cut on his forehead near River Street and Hudson Place around 10 p.m. Sunday, Hoboken Police Detective/Lieutenant Danilo Cabrera said. Wrong Way Staten Island Driver, 35, Charged With DWI In Hoboken A Staten Island driver was charged with DWI after police spotted him going the wrong way down a one-way Hoboken street over the weekend, authorities said. Joseph Martucci was stopped by officers who saw him going down 3rd Street from River to Hudson streets around 9:20 p.m. Sunday, Det. Lt. Danilo Cabrera said. Martucci subsequently failed a field sobriety test and was charged with DWI.  He was taken to police headquarters for processing, where he refused to provide a breath sample, police said. He consequently was issued a summons and other motor vehicle offenses, Cabrera said.

Knocked Cold: Morris County Man Charged In Hoboken Assault, Police Say A Morris County man was charged with assault after punching a man so hard that he went unconscious while out in Hoboken, authorities said. Detectives Adam Colon and John Quinones were near River and Newark streets (close to Texas Arizona) around 2:20 a.m. Sunday when they watched Michael Monica, 23, of Wharton, punch another man square in the face, Hoboken police said. The man was knocked unconscious and fell to the ground as Monica tried to flee, according to police.
