Union City Man's Death Probed As Homicide Authorities have launched a homicide investigation into the death of a 50-year-old Union City man Friday. Police arrived to a first floor apartment at Palisade Avenue and 21st Street where one man was performing CPR on the unresponsive victim, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.  The man was pronounced dead just before 6:30 a.m. -- 15 minutes after officers arrived, Suarez said. Driver Critical After Garbage Truck Plummets Off Overpass A Union City DPW garbage truck plummeted off an overpass onto westbound Route 495 in Weehawken after the driver suffered a medical emergency Wednesday afternoon, responders told Daily Voice. The driver was taken to Jersey City Medical Center with critical injuries, they said.  A passenger in the truck sustained a broken femur, police at the scene told Daily Voice. Update: Missing Union City Woman Found Safe UPDATE: Maria Polo was found safe Sunday night, police said.  Police in Union City are looking for a 65-year-old woman last seen Sunday morning.  Maria Polo's last known whereabouts were at 4409 Palisade Ave. around 9:45 a.m. She appeared to be heading north on Palisade Avenue.  Polo, who suffers from dementia, was last seen wearing a red long sleeve shirt with white lines on the elbow area, grey short sleeve silk blouse on top, black pants, and Nike sandals.  She is approximately 5’5" feet tall and weighs approximately 160 lbs.
