Two Newark Teens Busted Trying To Break Into Vehicles: Nutley PD Two 16-year-old Newark teenagers were arrested and charged for attempting to break into vehicles in Nutley on the evening of Thursday, March 28, authorities said. At 10:45 p.m., Belleville police notified Nutley police of two people wearing ski masks who were trying to enter homes in the township, Nutley Police Director Alphonse Petracco and Nutley Police Chief Thomas Strumolo said. Nutley police searched the area and found the two teenagers trying to enter vehicles on Ohlson Avenue and Ridge Road, police said. Valentine's Day Crash Leaves One Dead In Essex County (Updated) UPDATE: The victim has been ID'ed as 22-year-old Wiston Perlaza. One person was killed in a motor vehicle crash in Nutley on the evening of Wednesday, Feb. 14, police said. The hit-and-run motor vehicle crash occurred at 7 p.m. at Milton Avenue at the Garden State Parkway overpass, Nutley police said.  Nutley police and the Essex County Prosecutors Office are working to identify the perpetrator, officers said. The driver believed their vehicle was in park, police said. No one was injured and the Nutley Fire Department and Code Enforcement inspected the building for safety, police said. The vehicle was removed from the bank, which was secured by private contractors, police said.

Fairview Registered Sex Offender, 54, Charged With Sexually Assaulting Pre-Teen Over Two Years Thanks to Nutley police, authorities in Bergen County arrested a Fairview man accused of sexually assaulting a borough girl repeatedly nearly a decade ago, beginning when she was 10. Robert Moser, a 54-year-old registered sex offender, remained held Friday in the Bergen County Jail following his arrest the day before.
