Police ID Pedestrian Killed By NJ Transit Train In Central Jersey Police have identified the Jersey Shore pedestrian who was killed by a New Jersey Transit train in Monmouth County. An NJ Transit spokesperson said 85-year-old James Henning of Keyport died when he was struck on Holmdel Road. The crash happened right next to the Hazlet station at around 3:52 p.m. on Thursday, Mar. 21.  The railroad crossing on Holmdel Road near the train station in Hazlet, NJ. Keyport Fire Department Chief Tim Pfleger, 32, died over the weekend, the department announced on Facebook. Pfleger had been hurt in an accident returning from the fire academy in July, NJ Advance Media reports. Pfleger joined the department as a cadet in 2007.
