Holland Tunnel Closing Into NJ For 6 Nights A Week Through 2025
The New Jersey-bound side of the Holland Tunnel will be closing for six nights a week starting on Feb. 5 through 2025, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced this week. The project will fix damages caused more than a decade ago by Hurricane Sandy, and is similar to a project that began in April 2020 to take care of the same. That project will end on Feb. 4. New Jersey-bound drivers will be redirected to other Port Authority crossings between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., and on Fridays, Saturdays, and major holidays from around midnight to 9 a.m. Repairs are estimated at $364 m…

Belleville Bridge Closed For Road Repairs Monday, Police Say
The Belleville Bridge over the Passaic River connecting Rutgers Street in Belleville and Kearny and North Arlington is closed for repairs Monday, North Arlington police confirmed. The department sent out an alert Monday morning. North Arlington police told Daily Voice the bridge was closed for road repairs and is expected to be open by 4 p.m. Monday. The state Department of Transportation could not immediately be reached Monday morning, but in an online alert also said the bridge was expected to re-open by 4 p.m.

Hole Repair Jams Westbound Route 80 Traffic
UPDATE: Overnight repairs had to be made on a hole that opened on westbound Route 80 in Woodland Park after a drainpipe pipe below it collapsed. Monday night rush-hour traffic was backed up to the George Washington Bridge. The crack in the pipe, which connects basins at the median to the right shoulder, created a hole between the two left lanes. Drivers were urged to take alternate routes.
