Man Trapped In Industrial Machinery Dies In NJ
First responders' attempts to save a man trapped in industrial machinery were futile as the man died on Friday morning, Aug. 25, in Ocean County. OSHA is investigating the fatality at Cambridge Pavingstones, according to Lenore Uddyback-Fortson, regional director of the federal agency. A driver and passenger escaped serious injury when their pickup truck crashed through a Route 17 guardrail and landed on its side down an embankment, responders said. Mickey McCabe was all about helping the City of Bayonne. The longtime first responder and community leader died on Monday, June 19 after a long battle with lung cancer, according to his obituary. McCabe and his wife Judy started McCabe Ambulance Company, which they operated for more than 50 years, his obituary reads. A 12-year-old boy died days after being found unresponsive on a school bus in Camden County, authorities said. School officials and first responders tried reviving the boy after finding him on a bus in Gloucester Township Jan. 24, a spokesman with the Camden County Prosecutor's Office said. Two Dumont residents who were overcome by carbon monoxide gas were rescued by responders. Both were taken to Englewood Hospital and Medical Center after police, firefighters and EMS members responded to the Niagara Street home shortly before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
