Cyclist Seriously Hurt In Hudson County Hit-And-Run, Prosecutor Says A Hudson County cyclist was seriously hurt after being struck by a car that left the scene Wednesday afternoon, authorities said. A 33-year-old North Bergen woman was riding an electric bicycle near 50th Street and Bergenline Avenue in West New York and was struck by a vehicle that sped off shortly before 12:25 p.m., Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a Friday release. The woman was taken to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Suarez said. A vehicle of interest has since been recovered. Bergen Boy Dragged More Than 20 Feet In E-Bike Crash A 15-year-boy was severely injured when he was struck on an e-bike in Haworth, authorities said. The teen blew a stop sign while heading north on Maple Avenue and was struck by a BMW X5 going west shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, Lt. Justin Fox said. Romero, who works at Johnny’s Pizzeria on Bergen Boulevard, was contacted by Samuel Pena-Garcia, 30, of Guttenberg soon after posting a Facebook Marketplace ad, Detective Alex Monteleone said.
