Newark Man Burglarized Schools, Church: Police A 50-year-old Newark man was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 31,  for breaking into two charter schools, a church, a pain management institute and a city traffic facility in July and August, authorities said. Jmarkus Baker broke into the Newton Street School twice in July, stealing power tools, folding chairs and several tents, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. At Newark Collegiate Academy, Baker stole football helmets, a power drill, eight computers, snacks and cleaning products, when he broke into the school in July,  Fragé said. Englewood PBA: Marchers Arrested After Interfering, Mayor Blasted, Independent Review Welcomed UPDATE: Englewood’s PBA answered back on Wednesday, saying that leaders of a weekend protest march provoked their arrests by interfering in an incident along the route. Union leaders also countered reports that previous marches leading up to Saturday’s Black Excellence event had been peaceful. Video: Police, Marchers Clash In Englewood, Four Arrested Tensions were quickly escalating Saturday when the organizer of a peace march in Englewood and a city police officer went chest-to-chest. Then things got out of hand. The officer was one of several who apparently were trying disperse a march early Saturday evening, repeatedly telling participants and onlookers to back up, after what appeared to be a separate incident that occurred along the route several minutes into the event.
