Retired State Trooper Suffered Medical Episode Before Route 287 Crash: Family, Police The driver who died in a crash on Route 287 in Morris County this week has been identified as retired New Jersey State Trooper Kevin Hanrahan.  Hanrahan, 61, was heading north near milepost 31.4 in Harding Township around 9:05 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, when he ran off the road to the left and struck a metal guardrail, New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said. 40-Something Couple Hit Crossing Hawthorne Street A Hawthorne couple was hospitalized after being struck by a van on a local street. The van was headed south on Lincoln Avenue when it hit the pair, both 48 years old, near approaching Diamond Bridge Avenue around 9 p.m. Tuesday, Detective Lt. Matthew Hoogmoed. Both were taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening, the lieutenant said. One witness reported seeing the bear run from the Louis Bay Public Library across the tracks to Royal Avenue. The video shows a dash around the Subway on Diamond Bridge Avenue across Lafayette Avenue. The cub might have felt the town was just right: Hawthorne High School’s sports teams are called the Bears, after all.
