Crossing Guard Struck By Vehicle: Bayonne PD A crossing guard was struck by a car after helping kids cross the street on Monday morning, Sept. 18, authorities said. At 8:30 a.m., the 63-year-old crossing guard was hit by a 4-door white sedan on West 56th Street and Avenue C in Bayonne, police said. The crossing guard fell onto the hood of the car before falling to the street, police said. She swings her hips and waves her stop sign at the corner of Byrne and Passaic streets every day.
