One of a group of specially-trained Jersey City police officers shot and killed a knife-wielding city man after he charged at them in his apartment, authorities said. An EMS unit was the first to respond to 2:15 p.m. call at the Randolph Avenue residence in the Bergen-Lafayette section of the city on Sunday, Aug. 27, according to a release issued late Monday by New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin. A 27-year-old Jersey City woman was arrested by members of the US Marshals Service in connection with an August 2021 crash that left three pedestrians seriously injured, authorities said. Feds arrested Michelle Graham at her Jersey City home on three counts of vehicular assault and related charges, said Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez in a statement Thursday, Jan. 12. Popular Jersey City Ice Cream Shop Torico Plans 2nd Location
A popular Jersey City ice cream shop has plans for another location in the works. Torico is eyeing a location on Garfield Avenue between Berry Lane Park and The Junction in the city's Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood, JerseyDigs reports. The new location will be a production facility with a retail store, an owner told the real estate news outlet. Torico is currently located at the corner of Erie and 1st streets in Downtown Jersey City. The new 3,675-square-foot location is expected to open next year, JerseyDigs says.
