Two 16-year-old Newark teenagers were arrested and charged for attempting to break into vehicles in Nutley on the evening of Thursday, March 28, authorities said. At 10:45 p.m., Belleville police notified Nutley police of two people wearing ski masks who were trying to enter homes in the township, Nutley Police Director Alphonse Petracco and Nutley Police Chief Thomas Strumolo said. A shelter-in-place order at three schools in Hoboken has been lifted following an attempted burglary, police said on Wednesday, June 21. Police had initially received a report of the burglary in a residential building on the 800 block of Willow Avenue and they attempted to track down a suspect, officers said. A shelter-in-place was ordered for Wallace Elementary School, Brandt Elementary School and Hoboken High School as a precaution, police said. There was no threat to any schools, police said. Peeping Tom Peering Into Secaucus Apartment Popped By Police
An Essex County man was arrested in Secaucus after police said he was seen peering into an apartment window on the evening of Sunday, April 30. Jason Rosario, a 30-year-old Belleville resident, was spotted on scene by officers and began to run, police said. He got into a car and police initiated a traffic stop, where he was later arrested and charged with attempted burglary and criminal trespass, officers said. He was transferred to Hudson County Jail, police said. The investigation is ongoing, police said.

A would-be burglar bolted after breaking a window at a Cresskill pharmacy, authorities said.
