U.S. Marshals Capture Fugitive Wanted In Sex Assault Of Union County Girl
A fugitive wanted in a 2018 Union County sexual assault of a child was found in Tennessee, authorities said Wednesday. Jose A. Donis, 53, was taken into custody by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Tuesday evening in the Whispering Hills neighborhood of Nashville, Acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Ruotolo and Plainfield Police Director Lisa Burgess said. Donis had been renting a room in the Plainfield building in which the victim lived when he sexually assaulted her from early June 2018 to late September of 2018, Ruotolo and Burgess said last month. A 36-year-old Jersey Shore man died two days after being shot in Elizabeth, authorities said. Jermaine Lewis of Barnegat was shot on the 600 block of Marshall Street around 11 p.m. Tuesday evening, Acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Ruotolo and Elizabeth Police Department Chief Giacomo Sacca and Director Earl Graves said Friday. Lewis was transported to University Hospital in Newark for emergency treatment, where he died two days later, authorities said. Authorities: Burlington County Man Ignites Linden Driveway Fire In Family Dispute
A Burlington County man was lodged in the Union County Jail after setting a can of gasoline in a residential Linden driveway over a family dispute, authorities said. Desmond E. Hodge, 47, of Southampton Township, showed up to the house on the 1300 block of Essex Avenue and told the five residents a shared relative owed him money Wednesday morning, Acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V.
