Firefighters were battling a fire at a two-story West New York home Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out around 9:40 a.m. at 525 54th St. -- a two-family home -- and climbed to three alarms by 10:15 a.m.

The fire broke out around 9:40 a.m. at 525 54th St. -- a two-family home -- and climbed to three alarms by 10:15 a.m.

Witnesses told Daily Voice people were outside crying as companies from Hoboken, Kearny and other departments worked to knock down the body of the fire.
