Police were called to a Jersey City home shortly before 9 a.m. where a woman told them she had been sexually assaulted by a man who offered her a ride from Hoboken. The assault took place in Jersey City, she told police.
Luis Burgos-Santos, 28, was arrested Tuesday following an investigation by the prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit. He has been charged with two counts of sexual assault.
Burgos-Santos was being held at the Hudson County jail. Prosecutors plan to ask a judge to hold Burgos-Santos in pretrial detention at a hearing Monday.
A total of four assaults were reported between June 29 and July 1 in Jersey City. A city man has been charged in two of the other assaults. There have been no arrests reported in connection with the fourth assault.
