A thief stole a car with a baby inside before abandoning both a few blocks away, authorities said.
A woman got out of the car when the thief jumped behind the wheel and drove off at North Broad Street and Newark Avenue Thursday -- the infant still in the car, NJ.com says.
Police found the car with the baby safe inside less than a mile away at North and Stanton avenues, but the thief was nowhere to be found.
No description was provided of the thief, who is still at large.
