: Dump Truck Lands On Divider, Spills Gravel In Multi-Vehicle Pileup
UPDATE: A multi-vehicle crash involving an overturned dump truck stopped Wednesday morning rush-hour traffic on Route 80. The eastbound express lanes just past Exit 62 and a westbound lane were closed after the truck pitched onto the divider and spilled both gravel and diesel fuel in Saddle Brook shortly after 6:30 a.m. June 7, responders said. Chunks of the divider were also knocked off, they said. Four other vehicles -- including a garbage truck -- were involved in the chain-reaction crash, according to witnesses. : Tractor-Trailer Fire Jams NJ Turnpike Rush Into NYC
A tractor-trailer burst into flames on the I-95 approach from the New Jersey Turnpike to the George Washington Bridge, clogging the Tuesday morning rush. The driver got the rig onto the shoulder of the local lanes near mile marker 117, roughly two-tenths of a mile before the Ridgefield Park exit, shortly after 6:30 a.m. May 16. Flames spread along the bottom of the trailer as the driver got out safely. Black smoke could be seen for miles. Ridgefield Park firefighters doused the blaze. No injuries were immediately reported. New Jersey State Police are investigating the cause.

A 49-year-old man from New York who was stopped in the shoulder of the New Jersey Turnpike was seriously injured when he suddenly sped away from the trooper checking on him, hitting another vehicle Sunday morning, May 14, authorities said. The man was stopped in a Honda Accord on the shoulder near milepost 54.2 in Bordentown, when a trooper came over to check on him around 10:35 a.m., NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry said. A dump truck driver was on his cell phone during a crash that left another driver dead on Route 23 in Morris County Monday, May 8, authorities said. Angel Carabello-Maldona, 45, of Newark, is facing a charge of reckless vehicular homicide after rear-ending a Chevy Traverse that was stopped at a light at Alexander Avenue in Pequannock around 5:20 a.m., Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. UPDATE: The 45-year-old dump truck driver has been charged with vehicular manslaughter as authorities say he was on his phone at the time of the accident. A man was killed in a fiery crash with a garbage truck before dawn on Monday, May 8, Pequannock Police have confirmed. The rig ran up the grassy curb outside Jack Daniels Porsche in Upper Saddle River, took down a sign and pitched onto its side, leaving it lying across both shoulders and all three lanes, shortly before midnight April 29. Chicken Waste Spill Causes HazMat Situation Along South Jersey Highway
A trailer hauling chicken waste products crashed, spilling its contents all over Route 55 and causing a HazMat situation in Gloucester County on Monday, Feb. 27. The northbound side of the roadway was closed in Deptford from mile marker 59.2 to the Route 42 interchange following the 9 a.m. crash. The roadway had reopened as of 1:45 p.m., but crews were still on scene for cleanup. HazMat crews, the New Jersey State Police, NJDOT, and multiple fire departments were on scene. Environmental services were notified and were monitoring the incident. No injuries were reported.
