Water Main Break Floods Route 4 Exit In Paramus
A water main break in Paramus on Thursday flooded part of Route 4 and closed a busy exit ramp. Construction crews working near the exit ramp for Paramus Road off the westbound highway accidentally punctured the 16-inch main shortly before noon Aug. 17. It unleashed a mini flood that filled the exit with nearly a foot of water and closed Route 4's left lane near the median. Jackknifed Trailer Slows Traffic On Route 80
A jackknifed tractor-trailer slowed traffic along Route 80 in Morris County Wednesday morning, Aug. 16. The crash occurred at 3:45 a.m. on the eastbound side of the highway in Montville, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Philip Curry said. The driver lost control, ran off the roadway to the left, and struck a guardrail. UPDATE: Northbound Route 17 in Mahwah as reopened around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday following a wild tractor-trailer crash earlier in the day. Only one lane of the southbound highway was open during the evening rush. Driver Hospitalized In Route 287 Wreck
A driver survived a nasty overnight crash on Route 287, authorities said. Firefighters extricated the motorist, who complained of pains in both legs after his Mazda SUV ran off the road and struck a sign and a tree on the highway's southbound side near mile marker #60 in Franklin Lakes at 1:47 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Philip Curry said. The driver was hospitalized with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening, the sergeant said.

Box Truck Being Towed Tips Beneath Route 80 Overpass
A box truck tipped while being towed beneath a Route 80 overpass in Elmwood Park, jamming area traffic early Friday afternoon. Another tow was needed to straighten and remove the truck owned by Salerno's Custom Cabinetry in Saddle Brook from the corner of River Road and Market Street shortly after 1 p.m. No injuries were reported. A single-vehicle rollover crash Wednesday night downed utility wires on Route 17 in Paramus. The northbound highway was closed for a little over a half-hour after a vehicle slammed into a utility pole near Midland Avenue around 10:30 p.m. July 12. 23-Year-Old Airlifted After Driver Sends Car Into Oncoming Traffic On I-78: Police
A 23-year-old woman was flown to the hospital in a crash on Interstate 78 Sunday, June 25, New Jersey State Police said. An Acura Integra driven by a 23-year-old Manville man ran off the highway to the left and crossed the center median, entering the westbound lanes around 9 a.m. near milepost 22.7, in Clinton Township, NJSP Trooper Charles Marchan said. The Acura was struck by a westbound Hyundai. The 23-year-old Acura driver was seriously injured, as was his passenger, a Middlesex woman, who was flown to the hospital. The Hyundai's passengers suffered moderate injuries.
