: Route 17 Jammed By Two Poles Downed In Truck Crash
Police reopened some lanes on Route 17 mid-Friday morning after a box truck ran off the road and slammed into a utility pole outside the BMW dealership on on the southbound side in Ramsey during the early rush. The toppled pole pulled down another with it just before 7:30 a.m., stretching sparking wires across the highway and forcing police to close Route 17 in both directions. Sedan Topples Pole Outside Ridgewood School
A driver escaped injury Wednesday when his car slammed into a utility pole outside a Ridgewood elementary school. The four-door Honda slammed into the pole on East Glen Avenue at North Vien Street next to the Benjamin Franklin Middle School around 12:50 p.m. It toppled a street sign and left the pole leaning over the vehicle. Van Snaps Utility Pole In Ringwood
A driver sustained injuries that weren't considered life-threatening after a van slammed into a utility pole, snapping it, early Wednesday evening in Ringwood. Skyline Drive was closed at Greenwood Lake Turnpike after the crash just after 5:30 p.m. Power had to be cut to the pole so the driver could be taken to the hospital and the van could safely be removed.

Authorities were seeking the driver of a tractor trailer who fled on foot after crash involving an SUV and utility pole on Route 17 southbound Sunday in Paramus. The 1:30 p.m. crash downed the pole causing a transformer explosion, then knocking a bystander to the ground. The truck driver, described as a white male in jeans and a white T-shirt, hopped a fence near the K-Mart shopping center and ran into a nearby neighborhood just south of Linwood Avenue, police said. Driver With Serious Head Injury Freed In Route 46 Rollover Crash In Clifton
The driver of an SUV that snapped a utility pole and rolled over Saturday morning on rain-slicked eastbound Route 46 in Clifton sustained a head injury, responders said. The patient, who had to be extricated before being hospitalized, was conscious following the crash with another vehicle just before 9 a.m. near the Route 3 split, they said. Fiery Accident Shuts Rt. 7 In Kearny
A section of Rt. 7 in Kearny was closed Wednesday morning because of a downed utility pole caused by a motor-vehicle crash hours earlier. The lanes were closed in both directions between Schuyler Avenue and Ridge Road, according to the DOT. A witness who saw the accident early this morning and other witnesses quoted in a published report said a woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

6 Students Hospitalized In Boonton School Bus Crash
The driver of a school bus was found slumped on the floor after her bus carrying nearly 20 students crashed Friday in Boonton -- sending at least six of them to the hospital, ABC7 reports. Eighteen Rockaway Valley School students were on the bus when it struck a utility pole and wrought iron fence on Valley Road near a church cemetery, the article says. Driver Hospitalized After Bogota Utility Pole Crash
A driver was hospitalized with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening after her SUV hit a utility pole in Bogota. Complaining of shoulder pain, the driver walked to the ambulance, which took her to Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck following the afternoon crash on River Road.
