The Franklin Township police chief and one sergeant have been placed on leave following the double murder suicide at the hands of a New Jersey State Trooper last week, authorities said. The Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office says it will be supervising the department as it continues its investigation into the murders of Lauren Semanchik and Tyler Webb. A memorial has been set up outside a New Jersey animal hospital for Lauren Semanchik, a veterinarian who was fatally shot in a double murder-suicide in Washington Township over the weekend. New harrowing details have been released in the double-murder suicide, in which authorities say a New Jersey State Police trooper followed his ex-girlfriend home from work before killing her, her new boyfriend, and then himself.
