The box truck was instantly consumed by flames as firefighters reached Exit 66 shortly after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 21. "It was a cremation," one responder at the scene said. A driver who was ejected in a crash on the NJ Turnpike died after being struck by a tractor trailer early Sunday, April 24, authorities said. A Toyota Corolla traveling north near milepost 105.9 in Newark was struck by a Honda Accord around 4:15 a.m., New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said. A notorious stretch of Bergen County blacktop claimed not one but two more casualties when a pair of tractor-trailers jackknifed as the morning rush began. There were no reported injuries in the "tanker turn" mishap on the bending Route 95 approach to westbound Route 80 in Teaneck shortly before 6 a.m. Thursday, March 10.
