A toy gun altered to look real sparked a police response at a busy Lyndhurst shopping plaza, authorities said. On Saturday, Aug. 16, at about 2:10 p.m., Lyndhurst police received a 9-1-1 call about a male walking with “an exposed firearm in his waistband” near TJ Maxx in the Towne Centre Shopping Plaza at 421 Valley Brook Avenue, according to Lyndhurst Police Capt. A New Jersey toy company is recalling hundreds of thousands of children's jewelry design kits because the crafts have a toxic resin. LaRose Industries recalled about 224,100 Cra-Z-Art Gemex and Gel2Gem kits, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said in a news release on Thursday, Mar. 27. A man died by suicide via self-inflicted gunshot wound in a TJ Maxx parking lot on the early morning of Saturday, Feb. 15, authorities said.
