A former biology teacher in Bergen County had his teaching license revoked after an incident in which he purposely backed his car into another vehicle and then used a hammer to assault the victim, state officials said. The State Board of Examiners reviewed the information regarding Christopher R. Icochea from the Office of Student Protection (OSP) in September 2023, they said. A 19-year-old man from Bergen County is among the Americans reported missing in Israel among the Hamas attacks, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy said. New Jersey released its grades for public schools, ranking each one on a scale of 0 to 100. Nineteen schools in Bergen, Morris and Passaic counties scored among the top 50 in the state. Tenafly Swim Instructor, 23, Charged With Sexually Abusing Pre-Teen
A swim instructor from Tenafly “engaged in sexual acts” with a pre-teen over the course of two years, authorities charged. Kevin Guo, a 23-year-old Tenafly High School and Ramapo College graduate, wrote on lessons.com that he worked at Tenakill and gives private lessons. Tenafly police received a report last Saturday that Guo “engaged in sexual acts with a child under the age of thirteen in Tenafly over the course of two years,” Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo said Friday.
