Crash Sends Elderly Driver's Car Into Fair Lawn House
An elderly driver was treated for facial injuries after a crash pushed his sedan into a Fair Lawn home Friday morning. A 49-year-old Fair Lawn man was attempting to turn left from Park Avenue onto River Road when his 2006 Honda struck a 2017 Lincoln SUV driven by a 71-year-old Elmwood Park man around 9:50 a.m., Sgt. Brian Metzler said. The impact of the crash forced the SUV across the roadway and into the side of a brick Park Avenue house, he said. Driver Hospitalized After Bogota Utility Pole Crash
A driver was hospitalized with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening after her SUV hit a utility pole in Bogota. Complaining of shoulder pain, the driver walked to the ambulance, which took her to Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck following the afternoon crash on River Road. A stretch of River Road was temporarily closed while PSE&G attended to the damaged pole, which tilted over the street. Yaniv Besterman contributed to this report.

Elmwood Park Police Identify Pedestrian Killed Crossing Route 4
Elmwood Park police on Sunday identified a pedestrian struck and killed Friday night on Broadway (Route 4) as a 47-year-old Paterson man. A family member identified Edier Lopez at the Bergen County Medical Examiner's Office on Sunday, Police Chief Michael Foligno said. "Our hearts and prayers go out to the family during this difficult time," the chief said. Edier was struck by an eastbound 2014 Ford Explorer near the 7-Eleven and Orange Avenue around 10 p.m. Friday, Foligno said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, the chief said. Police Officer, SUV Passengers Hospitalized After Crash
A Hackensack police officer responding to a call and two occupants of an SUV were hospitalized -- all for precautionary reasons -- after a collision Sunday afternoon. The driver of the Toyota refused medical attention after the 2:32 p.m. crash at the intersection of Prospect and Central avenues. The officer had her vehicle's lights and siren on at the time, Capt. Francesco Aquila said. No serious injuries were sustained, he said.

: Transformer Sent Flying As SUV Slams Into Route 17 Pole In Paramus
PARAMUS, N.J. -- An SUV slammed head-on into a utility pole on northbound Route 17 in Paramus early Wednesday evening, sending the driver to the hospital and a transformer into a nearby parking lot. Traffic in both directions was slowed considerably near Kalisa Way until the wrecked Nissan Rogue could be removed by flatbed tow truck. The other driver apparently wasn't injured. Both the Toyota SUV and Mercedes sedan involved in the crash at the intersection of Paramus Road and West Midland Avenue were removed by flatbed tow truck.
