Authorities on Tuesday identified a victim shot in Prospect Park more than 36 hours earlier as a 23-year-old Middlesex County woman. The Fords victim was shot shortly before 3 a.m. Monday, April 10, at North 9th Street and Haledon Avenue, near the Paterson border, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Prospect Park Police Chief Ammen Matari confirmed early Tuesday evening. She was dropped off at St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center in Wayne a short time after the shooting, and township police were notified. Investigators cracked the July 4th weekend shooting of a Haskell man in Paterson with the arrest of an ex-con in Haledon, authorities said. Juan Pereyra, 32, was captured by Haledon police in the area of Belmont Avenue and Tilt Street shortly after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, they said. Detectives had identified Pereyra in the July 2 shooting of a 36-year-old Haskell resident in the area of Prospect Street and Market Street in Paterson. : These Are The Safest Hospitals In North Jersey
More than half of New Jersey's hospitals earned an "A" on Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade's latest report, making it the state with the highest percentage of top scores in America. The biannual ranking says that 56.72 percent of the state's hospitals earned A's -- 38 of the 67 that submitted their quality and safety data, up from 33 percent in Spring 2018. Safety Report Reveals Deficiencies Of Hackensack University Medical Center
New Jersey hospitals aren't as safe as they used to be, according to the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades' spring report. Of the 65 New Jersey hospitals graded, only 22 earned an A (HUMC, Holy Name Medical Center and The Valley Hospital), compared to the 30 hospitals that scored at the top in the fall.
