Winter Weather Advisory: Here's When 'Multi-Hazard' Major System Will Arrive, Wrap Up
A major storm the National Weather Service is calling a "multi-hazard" is closing in on this region and the entire Northeast. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from Saturday at 4 p.m. until 10 a.m. Sunday for North Jersey and surrounding areas. Mixed precipitation is expected (see second image above) with a total accumulation of 2 to 4 inches of snowfall for most of the area. Latest Snowfall Totals Released For Storm That Will Sweep Through Area
Brand-new projected snowfall totals for the storm that will sweep through the area overnight into Monday were released early Sunday evening by the National Weather Service. The quick-moving storm system could now bring up to 5 inches of snowfall to most of the area. Snowfall rates of around one inch per hour are possible Monday morning. Black Ice Advisory Issued For Melting Snow Refreezing
How Much Snow Did You Get? A Look At Totals From The Area Temperatures falling below freezing Thursday night through the early morning Friday will result in the refreezing of melting of snow, the National Weather Service said. This will create black ice and icy conditions on any untreated roadways, especially secondary roadways. Motorists are urged to use extra caution and travel more slowly.
