Clifton Cop Hit By Car, Hospitalized While Assisting Disabled Vehicle On Route 21 A Clifton police officer was struck by a vehicle while assisting a disabled car on Route 21 North on Wednesday, April 1, authorities said. The incident happened around 9:38 p.m. near Route 46, where traffic was already slowed due to the disabled vehicle, according to Clifton Police Lt. Robert Anderson said. Two merging vehicles collided at a relatively low speed, police said. One of those vehicles, a Honda Civic driven by a 24-year-old woman from Saddle Brook, then struck the officer and the disabled vehicle, authorities said.
