Former NY Rep Paralyzed After Horse Accident Receiving Treatment In NJ: Report
Former New York Congressman Michael Grimm has been left paralyzed from the chest down after a severe horse-riding accident during a polo tournament, and is being treated in New Jersey, CBS News reports citing a friend of Grimm's.
Grimm, age 54, was thrown from his horse in September and is now undergoing treatment at the renowned Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, which has locations in West Orange, Saddle Brook, Chester, and Marlton.

Nicholas Fiorita was days into his baseball career at the County College of Morris when the unthinkable happened.
The freshman, who graduated from Passaic Valley High School last spring, was struck in the head by a line drive at practice on Wednesday, Sept. 4, according to a GoFundMe campaign launched by his sister, Sofia.
Fiorita has been in a medically-induced coma and, although he's since been taken off of a ventilator and is breathing on his own, it's too soon to say how his brain will respond to the injury, Sofia says.

Wayne Native Collapses While Walking Dog, Fighting For Her Life, Campaign Says
Lauren Krissi, a Wayne native was out walking her dog on Thursday, May 30, when she collapsed while walking her dog.
Krissi was found unresponsive and rushed to Overlook Medical Center where she has remained with little responsiveness. Krissi is awaiting the next steps on her road to rehabilitation.
A fundraiser has been created to assist her on this journey. As of Friday, June 21, more than $53,800 has been raised.

They don’t come more independent than Sarko Ekhsigian, a talented 86-year-old jeweler, artist and staple of the Tenafly community who was nearly killed when an SUV hit him last month.
It’s hard for many to imagine him not walking around town, exchanging smiles, or hopping the Sunday bus to Central Park, where he so loved to draw, sketch and paint.
