Bergenfield DWI Crash: Englewood Passenger Critical, Dumont Driver Charged With Assault By Auto
A Dumont driver was drunk when he crashed his sedan into a utility pole in Bergenfield, seriously injuring a passenger from Englewood, authorities said.
Passersby got Aaron Estevez, 27, and the unresponsive 30-year-old male passenger out of the Honda Accord after it slammed into the pole near the corner of New Bridge and Wilbur roads shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, Bergenfield Detective Lt. William Duran said.
Estevez, who recently worked as a DJ at Manhattan's Webster Hall, was also injured, though not as seriously, the lieutenant said.

Ramsey Mom Charged With Leaving Scene Of Franklin Lakes DWI Crash
A Ramsey motorist was intoxicated when her SUV hit a median and she kept going, Franklin Lakes police said.
Alyson Allen, 42, was driving a 2020 Dodge Durango that hit the concrete divider on Parsons Pond Road around 7:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, Franklin Lakes Police Capt. Mark McCombs said.
Responding officers found her after the Durango became disabled about a quarter-mile away, the captain said.
Allen, who was alone, wasn't injured, he said.

The suspect in a Mount Olive hit-and-run was busted after abandoning his license plate at the scene of the drunken crash, authorities said.
David E. Fisk, 31, of Washington, was charged with DWI, reckless driving, failure to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving while suspended, Mount Olive police said in a Monday release.
Fisk is accused of damaging a fence near the dumpster area during a crash on Stedwick Drive on Tuesday, Nov. 1.

Assault By Auto Charges For DUI Driver In Rt. 202 Crash That Hospitalized Motorcyclist
A driver from Middlesex County was charged with assault by auto and DUI after sending a motorcyclist to the hospital in a Flemington crash, authorities announced.
Christopher Grohens, 33, of Spotswood, was charged with assault by auto, DUI, reckless driving, and following too closely, Flemington Borough Police said in a press release on Tuesday, Oct. 25.
A Flemington officer allegedly saw Grohens strike the motorcyclist near Route 202/31 Circle just after 12:35 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25.
The motorcyclist was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after the crash.
